Solopreneuring is hard
And anyone who tells you otherwise is a complete liar
The pathway to full-time self-employment as, well, anything is a tough one. There’s no getting around it: it is not for the faint of heart.
But when you realize you can do it, it’s totally worth it. Every scrape and bruise you get along the way is a character mark that builds you into who you are and who you will become.
And something happens to you when you take the plunge to solopreneurship: you start to realize that everything is within your grasp. You figure out that you don’t have to know how it all works right now, or how it will come together in the end. You just know that it will if you keep taking little steps every single day.
And that’s a dang powerful realization. Knowing that you can will the future you want into existence makes you very dangerous for the status quo’s of the world.
You’re not supposed to do that, sir or ma’am. You weren’t given authorization to color outside the lines. You were supposed to be a god little boy or girl and read from the 3×5 card of allowable opinions (thanks Dr. Woods for that phrase).
No, people like us don’t go down easy. We dislike authority (I do anyway; I don’t know about you). We speak our minds, and tend to put our money where our mouths are.
So, no. This isn’t for everyone. It really isn’t. In fact, it’s for hardly anyone. But fortune favors the brave.
Look, you don’t need to know everything to make a dent in the world. In fact, you really just need to outrun the other guys being chased by the bear. More important than skill set is mindset.
If you can retrain your brain to really believe in yourself (not in an inflated egotistical sort of way), the world is your oyster.
I don’t really have anywhere else to go with this today. If you don’t have faith in yourself and your ability to create yourself into what you want to be, don’t quit your day job.
But if you do, let’s talk.
