This isn’t goodbye

It’s “I’ll see you later”

I set out a couple of months ago to do a daily email and that’s exactly what I’ve done…for the most part.

Unfortunately, I dove into it while indulging in hustle porn and figured I’d just figure it out along the way. And the responses have been nothing short of stellar. I appreciate all of you who take time out of your day to read my musings.

I think the thing that drives me the most nuts about the big name accounts is that they all pivoted to email as soon as their reach tanked on Twitter. And worse yet was then acting like having a warm audience of 60k-200k+ on one platform alone is inconsequential.

MFer, it is everything!

Even if you are only getting 10% of your audience to sign up, that’s anywhere from 6k to 20k email subscribers just because of social media reach. Of course you can convert with that size of audience!

And that leads me to where I am. Right now, this here little project has been a blast but now it’s time to refocus on other things, namely paid work and building my website. Those things move the needle;” this doesn’t.

I assume I’ll be back sometime down the road, but for right now I’ve got to focus on what puts bread on the table. And that’s the part that the big names always seem to forget: you can’t just walk away from what pays to pursue a flight of fancy because it’s stylish at the moment.

Right now and for the foreseeable future, client work is my bread and butter and I’ll be danged if I jeopardize that to build a list.

Until next time friends, it’s been an honor.
