Everyone should start a blog

No, this isn’t clickbait and I’m not joking

There has never been a time in human history when it was easier to learn a high-earning skill and get it on the market in no time. There are thousands upon thousands of free resources to learn anything you want.

Can’t figure out what you want to do, or what’s in demand? No problem.

All you need to do is look over the list of high-demand skills, then get on LinkedIn Learning, Udemy, YouTube, or any of the many free skills academies from service providers themselves. HubSpot, SEMrush, and Google all offer extensive training for free.

But what’s the one skill that really gets the bag every time? Communication. And by this I mean content. Everything you produce and put out in the wild of the internet is a piece of content that gets you closer to your goals. Content is involved in every part of the sales and marketing process. All of it.

Start a blog

There is no better way to put all of this together than with a blog. Plain and simple. A simple Wordpress blog will cost a few bucks to get the domain, and usually like $2-$10 per month to host. Seriously, on namecheap.com, hosting is a couple of bucks per month.

Will you hit a home run on your first website? Probably not. But you’ll learn a bunch of invaluable lessons:

  • SEO (practical, not theoretical)

  • How to build a website

  • How to curate and write content

  • If you do well on those, potentially monetizing it

There is only upside to buying a domain and creating a website. If it flops, so what? You’re out less than a hundred bucks. But then you learn more for the next time. And you have a new skill to sell.

That’s all for now. Buy a domain, start a blog or website. Don’t wait.
